Central de Fletes Monterrey is evolving its driver professionalization program. Part of the strategy is to accelerate driver development, and to that end the company acquired an APEX simulator to launch operations at the group's first driver university.
The freight carrier's training program aims to reach its entire driver roster of more than 350 people. In the medium term, the goal is to keep acquiring simulators for the company's key operating regions, along with a mobile APEX simulator to reinforce training on site.

The program will professionalize the drivers already with the company and also serve as a talent pipeline for Central de Fletes. We want operators who are well trained not just in driving the vehicles, but in standards and regulations, so they understand every angle of delivering better service — and, most importantly, so bad driving habits are eliminated.
Jonathan PérezInstructor and Driver, Central de Fletes

The APEX simulator gives us multiple driving options and vehicle models, and lets us review a wealth of metrics — elements that complement systems we already have, for example, verifying trip data, detecting improvement areas in driving and correcting them.
Emilio MonroyHead of Purchasing and Driver Performance, Central de FletesThe Central de Fletes university will also give customers confidence and certainty that their cargo is in good hands and will reach its final destination on time and in full.
With the simulator's help we will minimize risk, save diesel and lower our accident rate. It will also help us attract new talent that is comfortable with technology.

Stronger safety, greater efficiency and sharper service strategies are the key areas where progress comes from implementing simulator-based training — and we walk alongside our clients through that entire process.
