Mining simulator

The APEX mining simulator trains and certifies heavy mining machinery operators with a field of view of up to 360 degrees, industrial force-feedback controls, and objective per-operator evaluation.

In a mine, every machine hour spent on training costs production, and every mistake by a new operator costs far more. The simulator reproduces the real perspective and proportions of mining machinery — with the option of 360-degree virtual reality or 4K screens — so operators build practice hours without taking a single machine offline.

The platform is the same one that backs training for Mexico's largest industrial operations: cloud telemetry, automatic per-operator scoring, and biometric fingerprint sign-in.

The whole machine, without stopping the mine

A cab with real controls, a motion platform, and up to 12 machines in a single unit.

Cab of the mining truck simulator with a real steering wheel and digital dashboard

The machine's real cab

Steering wheel, controls, and seat like the real equipment, with the machine's digital dashboard replicated: the operator trains in a cab with the real perspective and proportions of a mining truck.
Motion platform of the mining machinery simulator

Industrial motion platform

The entire cab is mounted on a motion platform that faithfully recreates on-board tilt and acceleration: ramps, braking, and rough terrain feel just like in the mine.
Multi-machine station of the heavy machinery simulator with excavator controls

Up to 12 machines in a single unit

A multi-machine system with quick control swaps: mining truck, tracked excavator, underground loader, surface shovel, front loader, backhoe, motor grader, or bulldozer in the same simulator.
Instructor station of the mobile mining simulator classroom

Mobile classroom and instructor station

A classroom configuration with multiple simulators — even mounted in a trailer that comes to your operation — and an instructor station that follows each exercise live, with a virtual reality headset option.
Telemetry and certification

Every maneuver, measured per operator

Speed, braking, engine use, maneuvers, and operating errors for every operator, in real time. Everything is stored in the cloud with no possibility of editing and validated by fingerprint: an auditable record per operator and per machine.

The software

Simulation software and the cloud

The simulator is only half the story: the software recreates the real accidents from your operation, measures every session, and delivers the results in the cloud.

Open-pit scenario of the mining simulator with an excavator loading trucks

A digital twin of your mine

We digitally replicate your operation's haul roads, ramps, and yards: operators train in their own mine, with its real grades and intersections — not in a generic scenario.

The original system, replicated

Virtual panels replicate the manufacturer's original system: auto-retard, automatic descent control, heat-up dynamics, and instructor-triggered failures to train fault response.
Automatic operating-style evaluation in the mining simulator

Automatic evaluation by work cycle

Every exercise scores itself, per work cycle and across more than 100 parameters: efficiency and fuel use, mechanics and tires, safety, and the productivity of each operator's operating style.
Plant loading exercise monitored by the mining simulator's telemetry

Cloud telemetry and reporting

Everything the operator does in the simulator is sent to the cloud: reports per operator and per machine, accessible in real time from any device and validated with biometric sign-in.

Frequently asked questions

What mining operations ask us

The questions we hear most from mines and heavy machinery companies.

What is a mining machinery simulator?

It's a professional training system that reproduces the operator station of heavy mining machinery: industrial force-feedback controls, a digital dashboard, and a field of view of up to 360 degrees with virtual reality or 4K screens. The operator practices the maneuvers of the real operation — ramps, hauling, loading yards — and every session is measured with automatic scoring.

Why train mining operators in a simulator?

Because in mining, training on real equipment competes with production: every machine hour spent training is an hour not producing, and trainee mistakes cost maintenance and risk. In the simulator, operators build practice hours and make their learning-curve mistakes without taking a single machine out of the operation.

How much do accident rates and maintenance costs drop?

In machinery operations, the typical range is 15% to 50% fewer accidents and a 15% to 30% reduction in maintenance cost, because the operating habits that wear down the machine — hard starts, harsh braking, engine misuse — get corrected in the simulator with objective data, before they cost the real equipment.

How is each operator certified?

Simulator access is validated with fingerprint sign-in, so every training hour belongs to the person who completed it, and automatic scoring logs violations, errors, and habits per session in the cloud, with no possibility of editing. The mine gets a record per operator with accumulated hours and performance: objective evidence for internal certification and safety audits.

What does support and maintenance include?

An annual service plan with preventive and corrective maintenance, remote and on-site support, software updates, and spare parts, with our own technicians in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and the Bajío region. We are manufacturers with our own operation in Mexico, with the capacity to serve remote operations like mines.

How is the APEX mining simulator different from other simulators?

On the hardware side: an enclosed operator station on a system that moves the entire cab — not just the seat —, a field of view of up to 360 degrees with virtual reality or 4K screens, and industrial force-feedback controls; plus a control station where the instructor operates a second machine inside the same session. On the software side: fingerprint identification and tamper-proof cloud results. And on top of all that, the largest after-sales support operation in Mexico, capable of serving remote operations.

What's included when you buy an APEX simulator?

Delivery is turnkey: APEX installs the equipment, calibrates it, and trains your instructors — it's up and running from day one, with no integrators or third parties. It includes the equipment warranty and access to APEX Drive+, the app where support tickets are filed and service history is kept. Once the warranty ends, the annual maintenance plan covers preventive and corrective service and every spare part, with technician travel and expenses included.

What makes APEX after-sales support different from other simulator vendors?

Most vendors sell the equipment with limited coverage: spare parts are quoted separately, technician travel and expenses are billed on top, damage from misuse isn't covered, and service depends on a distributor or an overseas manufacturer. The APEX service plan includes every spare part in the simulator, technician travel and expenses, and coverage even against equipment misuse. Everything is tracked in APEX Drive+, and service is delivered by our own technicians in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and the Bajío region.
