ICAT SONORA AND APEX SIMULATORS PROFESSIONALIZE TRUCKING

The government of Sonora, through the Sonora Job Training Institute (ICATSON), acquired an APEX heavy-duty and urban transit driving simulator to professionalize trucking across the state.

The government of Sonora, through the Sonora Job Training Institute (ICATSON), has acquired an APEX heavy-duty and urban transit driving simulator to professionalize trucking across the state.

Training will reach private freight carriers as well as the state's public transit concession holders, through a program that combines classroom theory with hands-on simulator practice — the simulator features more than 35 vehicles covering every heavy-duty and urban transport configuration.

The institute also plans to earn accreditation from Mexico's Ministry of Communications and Transportation to operate as a training center for obtaining and renewing federal commercial driver's licenses.

The biggest advantage of simulation is training focused on risk situations and risk factors that would be impossible to recreate in real life. That lets companies save on accidents, fuel, and training.
