JALISCO INAUGURATES ITS DRIVER'S LICENSE EXAM SIMULATOR

Jalisco now has its first driving simulator for driver's license testing, capable of processing up to 200 licenses per day — using simulation technology to guarantee safer drivers on the road.

Jalisco now has its first driving simulator for the driver's license exam, capable of processing up to 200 licenses per day — using simulation technology to guarantee safer drivers on the road.

The Government of the State of Jalisco has also deployed APEX simulators at IDEFT and CONALEP Jalisco, which deliver training courses for women drivers and for public transit and freight operators.

You'll now be able to get your chauffeur or standard driver's license in just minutes, without bringing your own car and without doing test maneuvers in some parking lot. This simulator will validate that you meet two requirements: skill and knowledge.

EFFECTIVENESS THROUGH VIRTUAL-ENVIRONMENT IMMERSION

The immersion of the car simulator multiplies how well concepts stick. And the safety of the virtual environment makes it possible to train high-risk situations without the danger of attempting them in a real vehicle.

Among other things, the simulator lets drivers train their reactions to unexpected events — adverse weather, sudden loss of traction, or a pedestrian appearing out of nowhere.

Living it as an experience, even a virtual one, builds awareness far better than a classroom talk — and is far safer than practicing it for real.

When the test begins, you start with 100 points, and as you drive the route, points are deducted for every infraction or mistake you make. The minimum passing score is 60.

Simulating Risk Situations and Factors

With the simulator it is possible to:

  • Evaluate driving skills and knowledge of traffic regulations.
  • Measure reaction times to risk situations, cyclists, pedestrians and vehicle failures.
  • Generate a tamper-proof, automatically approved result in PDF.
  • Build awareness about speeding, alcohol and cell phone use.
  • Analyze results from a centralized system with fingerprint identification.

The simulator features an immersive cab with a motion system that replicates the G-forces of acceleration, braking and cornering, powered by software that delivers a rigorous exam — with risk situations and factors that assess the applicant's skill and expertise before they receive their driver's license.
