MXSV Congress
On October 24, 2017, we took part in the MXSV Road Safety Congress, organized by MXInfrastructure. Congressman Jonadab Martínez presented the Road Safety Law, a bill aimed at creating a National Road Safety System and a Road Safety Agency, along with a national road safety fund, a national road safety program, mandatory nationwide liability insurance, a single national driver's license registry, and stronger data in the public vehicle registry.
The congress covered topics such as road safety management, urban and highway infrastructure in Mexico, manufacturing and vehicle inspection standards, traffic regulations and driver certification, compliance technology and management tools, and models for driver training and certification.
Under this bill, every future driver in Mexico would be required to complete a certification process at a driving school and pass an exam that evaluates their driving skills and aptitude before obtaining a driver's license.
Driving simulators are an excellent training tool for driving schools: they let students practice in a safe environment and can simulate high-risk situations such as heavy rain, fog, mechanical failures, and obstacles on the road. They are also a solution for driver's license testing, delivering a standardized exam with an automated, tamper-proof pass/fail result.
For this event, APEX brought its SIMVIAL® car simulator to the Cinia González Convention Center at MXInfrastructure's request on October 24, 2017. Simulator rentals for brand activations, trade shows, and events are the business line APEX was founded on more than a decade ago.
