At the opening of the state's first Mobility and Road Safety Week, the governor said his administration wants residents of the State of Mexico to count on safe, efficient, high-quality transit service.
Governor Alfredo Del Mazo Maza affirmed that his administration is committed to improving the state's public transit system, giving residents a safe, efficient, quality service that shortens commutes, lowers transportation spending, and strengthens family finances.
Opening the first Mobility and Road Safety Week at the convention center in Toluca, the governor argued that improving public transit demands efficient, innovative measures: much of the state's population spends up to five years of their lives in traffic and up to 40 percent of their monthly income on transportation.
He added that consolidating the state's development requires comprehensive, modern, efficient mobility — the kind that improves competitiveness, connectivity, productivity, and above all the quality of life and safety of families.
Before the opening ceremony, the governor toured the booths of the insurers and mobility companies taking part in the forum — and got behind the wheel of a simulator for public transit and heavy vehicles.
