Jaguar Servicios de Transportación, part of Celadon Group Inc., invested in a freight truck driving simulator to certify its operators and reduce driver turnover.
The company noted that the simulator is designed for drivers with light-truck experience and for those looking to become fifth-wheel operators.
Jaguar's driving school opened last year and the results have been strong: it is now welcoming its tenth class of operators, who train in the classroom, then on the simulator, and finally in the field.

Eduardo WillisCEO of JaguarThe company runs a modern fleet of more than 420 tractor-trailers, plus 180 additional units dedicated to border crossings and transportation services from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, into the United States and across Mexico.
Driver turnover has fallen steadily over the past three years: from 102% in 2016 to 75% last year and 40% so far in 2018. “We hope to reach 25% turnover soon,” the executive said.
He noted that the discipline the company demands of its operators has contributed to turnover — but what has built a real sense of belonging is the training and above-market pay, though he did not disclose salary figures.
